The company was originally founded as a common carrier at the turn of the century, and served the local community by hauling goods to and from Northampton by horse drawn trailers. Knights of Old Ltd first used motorised vehicles in 1918 and 'A' licenses were granted for 3 trucks on the inauguration of the Road Traffic Act of 1933. Over the next few years Knights of Old expanded adding warehousing to its operation. Slowly they built an integrated storage & transport solution, which developed into a fully-fledged pick/pack and cross docking operation.
